The Assessment Day
Improve your selection process by gaining a clearer insight into natural behaviours
When recruiting employees the traditional interview process does not provide clear insights into the real behaviours of candidates. In today’s workplace what makes an employee effective is what they ‘do’, rather than what they ‘know’.
The Capacity Specialists has developed The Assessment Day to help organisations have a clearer view on the natural behaviours of their candidates. Organisations can select the key behaviours they wish to assess, including Communication, Teamwork, Result-Focused, Resilience, Problem-Solving, Critical & Creative Thinking and more.
The main purpose of The Assessment Day is for candidates to participate in activities which bring to the surface natural, unrehearsed behaviours that are then measured. These measurements are then interpreted by assessors to determine their relevance to the tasks they are able to complete within an organisation.
It also identifies will and skill gaps that can be filled with training, coaching or workplace learning initiatives.
Additionally, the Assessment Day can help to speed up the recruitment process and improve understanding of the will and skills of the candidate.
Candidates will be 'agitated' during the activities so they reveal their natural behaviours. They will be given a target to hit and rules to follow during the activities. Facilitators will then change the rules and the target as the activity progresses - just like real life. These changes will be reflective of time and resource pressures they may face in the workplace.
