Nudging behaviours that achieve measurable results using the latest technologies.

In today’s rapidly evolving world, Next Generation Technologies have become an undeniable force shaping industries and societies alike. From artificial intelligence and blockchain to virtual reality and the Internet of Things, these groundbreaking innovations have the potential to revolutionize how we live, work, and connect. In this blog, we will explore why embracing Next Generation Technologies is not only crucial but also presents immense opportunities for individuals and businesses. Whether you’re a tech enthusiast or skeptical about the changes ahead, join us on this exciting journey as we delve into the transformative power of these cutting-edge advancements.

REMINDER 1:
The Evolution of Technology Supports Productivity in Any Organization.

With the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the quality of Virtual Reality (VR) increasing rapidly every day – technology tools such as ChatGPT, VR Simulations, and many others cannot be ignored.

Leaders and teams, using their human intelligence and their tacit knowledge, need to be supported to remain relevant, aware, and able to leverage the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR) for positive change.  The leaders and teams who are evolving these, and other technologies such as the blockchain, are creating our digital twin in this new brave world (metaverse or whatever we choose to call this parallel universe online) – with or without us.

Let’s remind ourselves this is nothing new.  We have adopted many productivity tools in the workplace over many years.  Many years ago we turned rocks into hammers to build homes and sticks into spears to hunt.  More recently in our evolution we have adopted typewriters, calculators, laptops, navigation tools, search engines, and mobile devices and made them part of our own and our customers’ everyday lives.

Such technology is NOT meant to replace us.  The very essence of technology is anything that makes life easier for us as humans.

In the future, AI-powered tools can positively contribute to our evolution.  Fearing it, criticizing it, or ignoring it is an irresponsible and naïve reaction.  You can LOVE or HATE the next generation technologies, but they CANNOT BE IGNORED.

The call to us as leaders and teams is to be ENGAGED – be curious, learn about what is going on to stay ahead, and find ways to be involved in shaping emerging technologies for positive change.  The alternative is that the technologies and those developing them will manage us.  As our partners on this evolutionary journey, our value is to constantly bring in the human element so that together we innovate with integrity for positive impact.

REMINDER 2:
Artificial Intelligence is based on Human Intelligence and Is Still Inferior

Many forget that this AI-powered technology has been created by copying how our brain works.  The technology experts that are leading the way, acknowledge that despite the ever-rapid advancements, our tacit knowledge, mental and emotional capabilities, and processing power still exceed what generative AI (e.g. ChatGPT) and many other forms of AI are able to achieve.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has impressive capabilities, and it is being improved by humans and by using its own processing power every day.  However, it still does not match the capabilities and overall power of our human brain which is part of the larger physical and energetic human body and society.  As examples, think of our level of adaptability, our deeper understanding of context and human emotions as well as the diversity of our creativity which is what artificial intelligence does not have.

Even ChatGPT agrees J!  This was its response when we asked if it is more powerful than the human brain:

“No, ChatGPT is not more powerful than the human brain. While ChatGPT can generate impressive text and perform specific language-related tasks, it is still limited compared to human intelligence in many ways. Here are some reasons why the human brain is more powerful:

  1. General Intelligence:
The human brain possesses a broad range of cognitive abilities and can excel in various domains, including language, perception, reasoning, problem-solving, creativity, and emotional intelligence. ChatGPT, on the other hand, is specialized for language tasks and lacks the broader cognitive abilities that humans possess.
  2. Adaptability:
Human intelligence is highly adaptable and flexible. We can quickly learn new skills, adapt to changing environments, and generalize knowledge across different domains. ChatGPT, on the other hand, is specifically trained on large amounts of text data and has limited ability to generalize or adapt to new situations without additional training.
  3. Understanding and Context:
While ChatGPT can generate coherent text based on patterns it has learned, it lacks true understanding of the meaning and context behind the words. Humans possess deep semantic understanding, background knowledge, and the ability to interpret ambiguous or nuanced information.
  4. Creativity and Originality:
While ChatGPT can generate text that appears creative, it does so by combining patterns from its training data. Humans, on the other hand, possess true creativity and can generate novel and original ideas by drawing on their imagination, experiences, emotions, and cognitive abilities.
  5. Consciousness and Self-Awareness:
Human intelligence is accompanied by subjective experiences, consciousness, self-awareness, and introspection. ChatGPT lacks these subjective aspects and is purely an algorithmic model that processes information based on patterns and statistics.”

TAKE NOTE THAT:

  • ChatGPT is only ONE example of a particular type of AI called generative AI which is language based.
  • There are many other examples of generative AI tools. Chat GPT has got the most media attention at this stage amongst the general public.
  • Furthermore, there are many more AI-powered models and tools. For many years, for example, AI recommendation engines have been powering learning experience platforms used by many organizations all over the world to create personalized learning journeys.
  • Beyond this, there are many other technology tools such as the blockchain to record proof of impact using NFTs and Smart Contracts.

In What Ways Can This Improve the Way We Work and Learn Together?

With the related stress of the accelerated pace of change, the key is to keep calm, carry on and be curious.  Learn and adapt together every day by tapping into the power of tech and teams!

The Power of Tech. Every organization, big or small, needs to explore how they might adopt the latest technology – not for technology’s sake!  Instead, adopt technology with the aim of making things easier, more effective, and impactful for the people your organization serves – your customers, employees, and communities.

The Power of Teams. Additionally, as technology keeps evolving, people need to evolve even faster to stay ahead.

Pace of Change

The shortest route to accelerate improved personal, team, and organizational RESULTS is to focus on the MINDSETS AND BEHAVIOURS of your employees, customers, and communities.

We can positively create change in people’s mindsets and behaviours, by building on:

  1. Our natural ability to learn.
  2. Our innate wisdom or tacit knowledge.
  3. Our need for a shared purpose.

How do we do this? Leaders and teams are equipped to IMAGINE, CREATE & CELEBRATE SUCCESS every 3 months.

  1. Set YOUR TEAM RULES | Agree to create a safe space to work and LEARN together every day
  2. Align on YOUR SHARED PURPOSE | Discuss and agree what results to achieve together in every cycle of 3 months
  3. Commit to YOUR CRITICAL BEHAVIOURS & MINDSETS | Commit to adopting behaviours and mindsets at are critical that achieving the results.
